My Simple Skincare Products

Simple Skincare Products

Kind to Skin - Moisturising Facial Wash
I have very dry skin and start my morning routine using this product ensures that it is kept moisturised throughout the day. It's great because you do not have to apply tons of the product for it to be effective, after wetting your face you can apply a small amount into your hand before lathering it up and applying it to your face and then rinsing it off leaving your face feeling refreshed and ready to face the day ahead.

                                                            Kind to Skin - Moisturiser
I both of simples kind to skin moisturisers by using the replenishing rich moisturiser in the winter so that my skin is never dry and the light hydrating moisturiser in the summer to ensure it doesn't become too greasy, as someone who has highly sensitive skin thus never wanting to try new products from different brands, I love that I can alternate between moisturisers in the winter and summer knowing that I am using a trusted product perfect for my skin.

Kind to Skin - Illuminating Radiance cream
I recently bought the Illuminating Radiance Cream to try as I do not really wear foundation and thought it would brighten up my skin leaving it with a nice glow, whilst this is something it definitely does I would recommend using it sparingly as too much makes you look like you have glitter on your face.

Kind to Eyes- Revitalising Eye Roll-on/Soothing Eye Balm
When it comes to using the revitalising eye roll-on this is all dependant on how well I have slept that night, if I've had a restless sleep and have woken up with my eyes all puffy then I will tend to apply it before apply my moisturiser, otherwise I do not bother. On the other hand I have recently discovered under my eyes tend to dry out quiet quickly thus making my concealer crack on my face, which isn't a good look. But the soothing eye balm is the perfect product to restore some moisture under my eyes as wells relax how tired they may look.

Kind to Skin - Hydrating Cleansing Oil
After a long day and an even longer evening at work this is my favourite product to use in my evening routine. There is nothing better than taking off all of your make-up (not matter how little you may wear) at the end of a day, this is the perfect product as it removes all of your make-up whilst cleansing your skin and does not leave your skin feeling greasy afterwards. The only make-up it doesn't remove so well is eyeliner applied on your waterline, but considering it says on the back of the product that it shouldn't come into contact with your eyes this isn't an issue.

Kind to Skin - Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser
Even though I use the hydrating cleansing oil to help remove my make-up and cleanse my skin, I still like to use the Foaming Cleanser as well as I feel this just cleanses myself rather than doing something else as well, there is no harm in double cleansing.

Kind to Skin - Vital Vitamin Night Cream
In all honestly I hardly use this product, I bought it with every intention to use it every night as part of my evening routine, however, I cannot decide weather I like it thus putting me off. I think it may be the texture of the cream and also after I've applied it my skin then feels all clammy, and I can the cream on my skin, whereas I want to have something lightweight and unnoticeable.

The Last Piece of my Heart by Paige Toon Book Review

Author: Paige Toon
Publisher: Simon and Schuster UK
Published: 18th May 2017
Pages: 400
Genre: Chick Lit, Romance
Source: Bought

When life feels like a puzzle, sometimes it's the small pieces
that make up the bigger picture...

A successful travel journalist, Bridget has ambitions to turn her quirky relationship blog about the missing pieces of her heart into a book. But after a spate of rejections from publishers, she accepts an alternative proposition...

Nicole Dupré died leaving behind a bestselling novel and an incomplete sequel. Tasked with finishing the book, Bridget is thankful to have her foot in the publishing door, even if it means relocating to Cornwall for the summer and answering to Nicole's grieving husband, Charlie. But as she gets to know the family Nicole left behind, and the woman behind the words, Bridget’s priorities begin to change...

It's finally out!! I've been desperate for this book to have come out since I pre ordered it back in January I think, and it's finally out ahh! Of course I've already finished and am now sat eagerly anticipating her next book, yes I am fully aware though considering this book only came out on 18th May this year, I do have quite a bit of a wait.

It's funny because although I was extremely excited about the book coming out, from the blurb on the back I was a hundred percent sure what I would think of it, (it's hard to describe but I'll try my best) with others of Paige's books, just from reading blurb I've known it would be a book I wouldn't be able to put down until I've finished it, however, with this one I just had a different feeling as if it may be one I wouldn't be able to fully get into to. It's safe to say I was wrong, and was completely hooked from start to finish. The book arrived at about 11am Tuesday morning and I must have sat and read about a quarter of it, before managing to tear myself away from it in order to run a few errands. I then returned home and convinced myself I could read a few more pages whilst I was having my lunch before I got on with some work. It was such a bad idea, I couldn't put it down and ended up reading another quarter of it before taking it upstairs and leaving it in my room. I did not read anymore until I got home from work at around half 10 before finishing the book at 1am the following morning. After thinking I wouldn't be able to get into it, I ended up reading the entire book in a day!

When Bridget is asked to finishing Nicole Dupre's after she died, she doesn't think she can fill her shoes and relocating to Cornwall at the request of Nicole's widower Charlie is not something she finds comfortable. However Bridget soon begins to find her place as well as a part of herself she didn't know was there. I'm going to be honest and say Bridget was never a character I was overly interested in, but after reading her story I absolutely love her! As a travel writer she has a job that would make anyone envious (who wouldn't want to travel and get paid for it!) however to have that job she does have to make a few sacrifices and I love how Paige captures reality in that way, you can't always have everything in life sometimes sacrifices have to be made. I also love how Paige portrays Bridget to be a character who no matter what the situation always stays true to herself an her beliefs.

A remarkable book about grief, love, loss, discovery and adventure 'The Last Piece of My Heart' will leave you hooked from the very first page.

At the end of the book there is playlist, I couldn't find the whole playlist on Spotify, so I decided to create one for you all. Happy listening!

Monday's Musings - May Goals

With May brings the rain, thankfully it was just a quick shower though because although I had an umbrella with me, I was not suitable dressed for the amount of rain that fell. I can't believe it's May already and next month we will be half way through the year. Last month went so fast that I never had the chance to complete all of the things I'd planned to, but I'm determined to this month.  I have five goals for this month and to ensure I achieve them all I thought I would share them with you.

 1. To be strict with blog posts and post at least twice a week
I have a list of post ideas that I need to draft as well as a few in my drafts and photos on my hard drive so all I need to do now is post them.

2. Plan my 21st birthday
I turn 21 in July and I really want to go and see Wicked in London so I need book my tickets and hotel for that.

3. Do more workouts
Workout at all, I'll be honest and say I don't really workout, but it's something I want do. On Friday, as I was off work that evening I decided to attend my Mum's yoga class with her, the class she attends is an  intermediate class and I'm a beginner therefore I found parts of it difficult but I felt good afterwards and it's encouraged me to workout more. There are some great workouts by Blogilates on YouTube.

4. Plan photo shoots
Continue to build my portfolio.

5.  Cook more
For my birthday last year I asked for a couple of cook books, in the beginning I was really good at cooking recipes from them but then something happened where I became so busy that I only just had time to eat let alone cook, thus leaving my Mum to do it all, but now that things have calmed down I want to go back to cooking at least once a week.
